With apologies to Satchel and all his “Don’t look back” advice, at the end of each month, I conduct a quick review of the Buzzyblog posts that made it to the surface. (As opposed to the ones I started, and then saw them sink plain outta sight.)
This past March summary of Buzzyblog posts mostly reflects the fact that mid-month Pam and I got away on a cruise with several friends. I discussed traveling and cruising in a couple of posts leading up to and following the trip.
And whenever I venture away from the Buzzy Ponderosa, I pre-post more music-related items than usual here on the Buzzyblog. The music posts are easy and fun for me to do. Thus, they are always my default drug of choice when looking for something to pass along.
As for what I call “Personal Items” i.e. those where I rant or ramble on about some silly topic (think Andy Rooney) I always include more than a few of those each month. March saw me wearing the wrong shoes, mis-identifying a cherry blossom tree and opining about thinking before talking. Note that this latter topic turned out to be one of my more popular Buzzyblog posts as I received several nice comments and positive feedback from folks telling me how much they enjoyed that one. Thank you to everyone for those kind words.
As for other Buzzyblog categories in March, I did a couple of what I call “Promotional Posts.” In those posts, I try to publicize events primarily in South County such as ones at Pier-450, the American Legion, Firehouse, Rescue Squad, KoC, St. Michael’s School and St. Mary’s City-related, the Historic Commission and the College.
There were a couple of March “Buzzy Visitor” posts wherein I featured some of my Leonardtown buddies along with the Kalmus ladies Carol and Cindy and their daughters dropping into the Store. Always a good time when friends and folks you haven’t seen in awhile drop in and pay a visit. Too, it is good blog material!
On the not-so-upbeat side of things, I also did a couple of funeral-related posts on the passing of Tommy and Dictator. Two legends, there was no way I could say enough about both of them and how much I enjoyed their company and count myself blessed for having known them. May they both rest in peace.
Ommission-wise, as I look back, I didn’t do any sports-related posts in March. I purposely avoided talking about the Terps’ great season and their NCAA Tourney run to the Sweet 16 for fear that I would jinx them. That strategy appeared to have succeeded to an extent I guess. (Quick aside here, it is hard for me to believe that this time just last week the Terps were only 2 games away from the Final 4, looking good and everyone was very excited for them. Now, only one week later, they’re out of the Tournament, their Coach is gone, their players are in the portal and chaos ensues all around the program. What a difference a day/week makes! Hopefully, with a new coach named Buzz just hired, things will level out some for them and we’ll be back in the high life again.)
Steve knows what I’m talking about. Several scenes were filmed in Manassass, Virginia and featured the town’s Train Station (click here:)
Thought that sounded like JT backing Steve and turns out it was!
