Palm Sunday & A Shot of Bob

Due to their son being ill, the couple decided that Mom would stay home with him while the Dad went to Mass on Palm Sunday. When the Dad returned back home with palm branches in hand, his son asked him about it. The Dad replied “You see, when Jesus came into town, everyone waved palm branches to honor Him, so we got palm branches today.”

The little boy replied, “Darn, the only Sunday I miss is the Sunday that Jesus shows up!”

This article discusses Dylan’s late 70’s/early 80’s period that produced his “Born Again Trilogy” of Slow Train Coming, Saved and Shot of Love. The tune “Gotta Serve Somebody” was probably his most well known primarily because it won a Grammy for Best Male Vocal Performance and was his last Top 40 hit peaking at No. 24.

All that said however, think I preferred some of his other tunes from that time such as Every Grain of Sand the last tune on Shot of Love. According to Wiki, Dylan wrote it inspired by a verse from one of my favorite poems:

And speaking of serving somebody something, while there won’t be any palm branches for you at Buzzy’s today, when serving alcohol, you don’t need anything else right?
