Buzzy Hat Magic Works Again (and Again!)

Today’s Buzzyblog Twofer Tuesday actually transpired this past Friday.

First off, I received the following text from my friend Dave Carlson (now living in the Richmond area) who had this to say:

Then a little later, I received this text from my friend Tom Russell:

I responded to Tom by telling him about Dave’s recent text with a similar message. I concluded with “Got my Twofer Tuesday!”

See? There are days when I don’t even have to ingest any morning coffee to do this daily blog thing as the posts just write themselves. (Or in this case, it was Dave and Tom who wrote for me. Thank you guys and hats off to you!)

Frankie Miller is in my CD queue right after Miles whom I listen to every Sunday Morning. When Miles finishes his “Kind of Blue” masterpiece and I am too lazy to get up and switch the CD changer to its Shuffle mode, Frankie is next up to entertain me. As often as not, I let him play on.

Whereas Miles mellows me, Frankie puts me in an upbeat mood. For example, his good little have-a-nice-life-tune here reminds me of some folks whom I have known and then watched swim away on down the stream of life. I like Frankie’s goodbye message to them of “Be good to yourself and may the sun shine down your way!”

But what the hay, since it is a Twofer Tuesday, here is another nice tune from Frankie. As you listen and watch, make note of that left handed fella kicking it on lead guitar (2:15.) He is Ed Deane. Check out how he is playing a right handed guitar upside down without restringing it. Some guy named Jimi did likewise along with Al and Dale as in Albert King and Dick Dale respectively (click here for more info on left handed guitarists.) What sets Ed, Jimi, Albert and Dale apart from other left handed guitar players is that they simply turned a right handed guitar over and played it without restringing it.
