For today’s Twofer Tuesday, allow me to tell you about two sets of two parties this past weekend at Buzzy’s: birthdays on Friday, a reunion on Saturday and an impromptu one on Sunday.
Friday afternoon we celebrated two July birthdays as Chris Axtel and Herbie McKay both dropped into Buzzy’s to celebrate their big day(s.) Chris’ was on the 18th and Herbie’s on the 19th.
Saturday morning, shortly after I had opened, Andrew Blohm drove up to advise/warn/prepare me for the arrival of McCoy family reunion members who were walking out to Buzzy’s. Buzzy’s was soon filled with a couple dozen or so of Beth and Fred descendants enjoying each other’s company, relaxing and having a good time.
Somewhere, there is a photo of everyone on the Buzzy front porch. I’ll post that when I can. For now, here is one I took of McCoy brothers Mark and Nick holding Rory the youngest McCoy at the reunion. (Unofficial tally was provided to me on Sunday by Julie who said that there were approximately 55 attendees at the reunion.)
P.S. Here is the reason why I mentioned that Andrew drove up while the other members of the McCoy family walked in. Somewhere along the line, with the Store full of laughing and joking McCoys, a customer buying bait asked me “What is going on here? There is only one car in your parking lot and your place is filled!” I explained and noted the Buzzy line that “a party can break out at Buzzy’s at any time!”
Then Sunday afternoon, my friend Barbara Sopato dropped in to tell me that the Pier 450 folks were right behind her. And sure enough, my friends Peggy, Kathy and Company rolled in and next thing I knew another Buzzy party was under way. JW (seen here in the background) commented “What are you doing with all these women in here?” I told him “Partying. What else?!”
