Tim Reid Buzzy Podcast Preview

When my visitor placed a Buzzy hat on the counter to purchase it, I repeated my “There are hat people and non-hat people” line. My visitor smiled and said that he preferred baseball hats.

From that brief exchange, Tim Reid and I then proceeded to talk baseball, Babe Ruth, Xaverian Brothers, ball parks, Jesuit churches, more baseball and so on. Chief Larry was in Buzzy’s Country Store at the time and suggested to Tim “You should do a Buzzy Podcast with us.” Tim immediately agreed to do so despite living in Annapolis. When we offered to film it via Zoom he noted that he did not mind driving back down to do the Podcast.

Tim returned a few days later and sat down with us to film a Podcast that we will show tomorrow.

Tim is a Baseball Historian who has also produced films and music records. He appears in the documentary “First Boys of Spring” which featured Billy Bob Thornton as the narrator.

Tim gave us copies of the CD “Nine for the Babe” that he produced to include a couple of tunes that he wrote. (I’ve included one of Tim’s tunes in a previous post (click here.)) His CD follows and contains some great photos and videos of The Babe. I recommend “The Southpaw of Baltimore/Ballad of George Herman Ruth” (2:11 mark.)
