Pam and Pat Party Redux

Saturday’s Going Away Party for Pam and Pat Birmingham was one of the more enjoyable affairs that I have experienced at Buzzy’s Country Store due to a number of reasons.

One, it was a very nice turnout of people and friends, some of whom I hadn’t seen in awhile. I was very pleased that so many folks came out to wish Pam and Pat farewell. It made for a relaxing and fun vibe that I can not define but…. (yeah you know it too when you feel it.)

Reason # Two I enjoyed it is that David Norris, as always, did a great job playing music for us. I always feel a little bit better and happier whenever David is in Buzzy’s playing his tunes and doing his thing. He nailed it again Saturday night. Here is a small sample of him killing it:

Reason # Three, as usual we had a great turn out of delicious items for the Buzzy buffet table. My thanks to all who brought something. It always impresses and amazes me the variety and selection of things to eat at a Buzzy party. A couple of folks whom I hadn’t seen in awhile and welcomed them back accordingly, remarked “Well, free food, we had to come. Just bring a plate of something and you can eat for two all night. Can’t go anywhere else and do that.” And while I took that as a compliment and laughed along with them, I secretly thought “Yeah, right, now I know why you’re really here.” But too, I was very glad that they both showed up to wish Pam and Pat farewell.

And the last, most important of my reasons for enjoying the party as much as I did, is that we were able to have a really nice affair for a really nice couple. Pam and Pat were very pleased with the turn out and how things went and that was exactly what I aimed for because they deserve it. It was my pleasure to have known both of them all these years and I wish them well in all of their new endeavors.

Some photos for you (several of which were taken by Chief Larry.)

And since I sampled David doing a little of this tune, here it is in its entirety:

I found this Wiki description providing details about the video such as where it was filmed and how Clint’s brothers appeared in it:
