It made me think of Mick at Altamont asking the Hells Angels and members of the audience “Why are we fighting?” The Angels were acting as the security team at the concert when a fan with a gun was killed. The incident was captured in the Stones’ documentary “Gimme Shelter,” and afterwards, Mick made some negative comments about the Angels that didn’t go down too well with them. They responded by planning to assassinate Mick (click here.)
However, that plan failed due to some high tides swamping the Angels’ boat as they were trying to land at Mick’s residence at the time (click here for the rest of the story.)
In retrospect, having the Hells Angels as the security team may not have been the best idea that the Stones’ concert promoters ever came up with.
