Come On Jesus!

Sunday, so let’s talk Jesus and some football.

Remember when Tim Tebow was quarterback for the Denver Broncos and they were on a roll with him and his praying to Jesus? If you don’t recall or know about the “3:16 Game” against the Steelers where the Broncos miraculously beat the Steelers to win a playoff game (click here.) Excerpts follow:

And if you do not get the 3:16 reference (click here) don’t feel too bad because I had to look it up too. To save you some time, 3:16 reads as follows:

SNL did a funny/controversial skit on all this by having Jesus pay a visit to Tim and his teammates. Jesus tells them that they have to step it up and stop relying on him so much to keeping bailing them out. Check it out here:

Not over reacting too much, Televanglist Pat Robertson called it an assault on Christianity (click here.)

As for today, Tebow is still out there preaching the word and trying to make the world a better place (click here.) Hats off to him. Maybe I will invite him down to Buzzy’s for a visit and a drink or two. I am assuming that Jesus is too busy to make an appearance.

The Doobie Brothers are another of those groups that I have a hard time naming my top five favorite song of theirs (click here for a sample Top Ten listing.) Even if the following tune did not make that Top Ten list, I always liked it. “I don’t care what they may say….”

Since it is Sunday, here is another Doobies’ tune I always liked:

Rainy day in the forecast, but do drop into Buzzy’s if you venture out and we will have a drink at say 3:16 for good luck and better weather!
