Dark earlier, weather colder, Black Friday, Christmas music commencing, one could make a case that November is one clunker of a month.
However, being a glass-is-half-full kind of guy, I tend to like November a bit more so than I dislike it.
Thanksgiving alone offsets most all of the negative things that we have to endure the other 29 days of this month. Turkey Day gets my vote as THE best holiday because of all the F’s involved – family, food, fun and football. (I’ll stop there, but feel free to add any other enjoyable F’s that you can think of.)
Buzzy November birthdays also offer some other days in the month to enjoy as follows: John Carbone on 2 November, John “Busser” Eaker on the 4th, Wes Demko on the 5th, Darline Madjeski the 8th, Billy Peterson and John Porter the 9th, Ella Ridgell the 9th, Sharon Barnhill the 12th, Harry Wheatley and Wade Norris 14th, Joe Stone 16th, Warren Burke the 20th, Mary Lou Cullison the 23rd, Bobby Cook, Bubba Cullison and Steve Kapinos on the 30th.
In my immediate family, my Grand daughter Lily celebrates on the 17th and my niece/Godchild Katie (Taylor) Allen celebrates on the 25th.
November tune here for you with a nuanced story to tell. If nothing else go to 3:20 for the exchange between him and his ex-lover as she encourages him to get religion. Like November, that conversation got dark early.
Couple of sad notes here to relate. Just now, as I updated the Buzzy birthday list, I had to take Tommy Courtney off the November 20th date. Hate it when that happens. Also, today marks 5 years since my Mom passed. And while they say that time heals all, I am still waiting on that particular pain and sense of loss to begin to begone. To date, it has not made a move to do so.
Guess I will have to carry that weight a long time.
