When I saw them pulling into the Buzzy parking lot Sunday, my first thought was that they were a car club from Colonial Beach, Virginia. Members of the Colonial Rod Club attended a couple of our early Buzzy Car Shows and I thought that perhaps they were making a return visit.
Turns out however, once the cars were all parked and the drivers/owners began rolling into the Store, that they were northern County and 7th District fellas on a Sunday drive road trip to South County.
They informed me that they had made two stops – Courtney’s and Buzzy’s. These photos are from Terry Pogue’s FB page. This photo of their first stop at Courtneys is now Terry’s FB Home page. (That red truck up front is his.)

I took the following photos during the time they were at Buzzy’s. Note how they stayed awhile and moved their vehicles around at different times.
As I took photos of their vehicles, I noticed the three boxes in the back of Terry’s truck and complimented him on them. He laughed and showed me his handiwork in constructing the Jameson and Carling Crates such that they appeared as two distinct boxes. He said that he had gotten the Anheuser Busch one from Guy Distributing for free but that the going price for the Jameson and Carling boxes was more than he wanted to pay. He then built one box out of pallet boards, stenciled them accordingly and drew a dividing line to make it look like two boxes. Pretty clever move Terry!
They say that necessity is the mother of invention. Well, in this case, frugality may have also helped to inspire Terry’s creativity!
I enjoyed their visit and hope they come back again for a return trip.
As for cars at Buzzy’s on Sundays, I have a stock answer for people who will ask me “When’s the Buzzy Car Show?” or “Do you plan on having any more car shows?” My reply is “On any given Sunday at Buzzy’s there will be at least one or two (or maybe even several) classic cars and trucks there to check out. So come on down.”
While on this car topic, it brings to mind a recent conversation in Buzzy’s involving “car sex.” I won’t go into any details, but let’s just say that the comments were all over the place!Literally! Check out Keith’s take on the subject:
