For our Buzzy Podcast today, Chief Larry and I had initially planned on showing you Pt. 2 of our interview with Joe Norris. However, this past Thursday we conducted our first transcontinental podcast with my Grandson Shawn. He is in the Air Force and is currently stationed over in Jordan.
In our video here with Shawn, you will hear a bit of an echo in my voice that was due to a glitch in our recording. Shawn’s voice, heard from around the world, came out great, while my voice, recorded here at Buzzy’s Country Store echoed a little. Chief Larry has since figured out the problem and as Bob Seeger once said “Next time we’ll get it right.” Note too that we have Part 2 of Joe’s podcast scheduled for you for next week with no voice echo’s at all.
Couple of footnotes:
That is Shawn’s stepsister Gracie Goddard Beekman whom he refers to towards the end of our talk.
Here too is a screenshot of the appearance of Shawn’s A-10 unit in the National Anthem being sung prior to the Lions-Packers Thanksgiving game. Shawn is not in this photo as he was working at the time.
Music-wise, since Shawn mentioned having a cheeseburger, you know what food song is coming up right? It reminds me of a little trivia about the song. I bet that you, like me, always thought that Jimmy was singing “Cheeseburger in paradise, Medium rare with mustard’d be nice” (1:25 in video.) However, the correct lyric is actually “Medium rare with Muenster’d be nice” (click here.) It really is a little cheesy if you ask me. (Sorry!)
