And without intending to do so, I have buried the lead here when I note that today Pam and I celebrate 19 great years of marriage. Life really is a lot easier with a partner proving the old maxim – it takes two.
And speaking of it takes two, Marvin Gaye had a big hit with Kim Weston on the following tune.
You know Marvin’s story but maybe not Kim’s so well (click here.) In fact, it surprised me to learn that it was Kim and not Tammi Terrell who did this tune. Marvin and Tammi had a several hits together after his and Kim’s tune hit Number 14 on the Billboard charts in 1967. Kim went on to have a successful solo career post-Marvin including this one which the Doobie Brothers later recorded and had a huge hit with:
