Without college basketball to galvanize my attention like it used to, I find myself at this time of year really looking forward to some baseball. There was this reminder I saw a couple of weeks ago as spring training games commenced:
I had to smile when driving around San Diego with Reagan and Ben and we crossed Santa Monica Blvd. Because this song immediately came to mind. At 1:27 when she sings “until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Blvd.” She follows it up with the classic line “I like a good beer buzz early in the morning.” If you don’t get that reference, I guess you really haven’t missed anything in life. However, if you do know what I am talking about, you got my respect.
One observation here – if San is the male name for places like San Francisco, San Diego and San Bernadino, and Santa is the female prefix for places like Santa Monica, Santa Clara and Santa Ana, does that mean Santa Claus was a tranny?
