Buzzard’s Belly General Store

A recent visitor to Buzzy’s Country Store told me about Buzzard’s Belly General Store located in Cisco, Utah.

As for the name, my visitor informed me that it originated from the saying that if you cut open a dead buzzard’s belly you are liable to find most anything. Same with the store’s contents. That’s true of just about any old country store still around.

Speaking of small stores, while Pam and I were touring around the coast of Portugal, our guide pointed out a location that had previously featured several small stores and businesses but was recently replaced with a huge “concept store.” He asked us “Do you know what a concept store is? It is a place with a bunch of overpriced items that have absolutely no practical purpose.”

And while I was not familiar with the term “concept store,” I knew exactly what he was talking about. (For more info on concept stores (click here.)

Nice little tune here from Steve Winwood who just finished up touring with John Fogerty. Now that was a double bill worth checking out!
