Busy day in Buzzy’s Country Store this past Sunday. For a Sunday in April, it was more like a mid-summer Sunday. The nice weather brought out lots of local visitors and friends along with several day trippers, bikers, and tourists who were just out and about for a relaxing time. Made me think that perhaps the higher gas prices may actually mean more traffic for us here in Southern Maryland as folks opt for “staycations” nearer home rather than travel farther distances. Re: the price of gas, check out this chart documenting price fluctuations for the past eight years. Prices peaked in June of 2008 but bottomed out by the end of the year. If Presidential politics had any play in this, maybe we’ll see another downturn in gas prices. Then again, it may be that the wrong party is in office for the oil boys to be so considerate. Hope I’m wrong about that but you don’t need to be a weatherman…..
