OK, did some talking about restaurants in yesterday’s post, so I’ll continue at least another day to bore you with Buzzy’s Food Notes.
When I was preparing the margarita’s a couple Saturdays ago to serve at Buzzy’s Cinco de Mayo party, one of the liquor book recipes specified not to use table salt to rim the glasses, but instead to use either kosher or black salt. (Had something to do with the “consistency” of the salt.)
I knew what kosher salt was but the black salt threw me. My food expert Pam then reminded me that we had sampled some when we were in Turkey a few years ago. I sort of vaguely remember doing so.
Found this summary then of 10 different kinds of salt but my ulterior motive was to put this video in play for you. The line “let’s drink to the salt of the earth” is one Buzzy could have written don’t you think?
