Speaking of hats, someone in Buzzy’s Country Store the other day asked how the Buzzy hat collection began.
Buzzy told me that his collecting of hats began when a DC policeman donated the first hat to him in 1955. The policeman had made several visits to the Store wearing a WMZQ hat. When Buzzy commented on the hat, the policeman gave it to him. Buzzy hung the hat up on display and after that, folks would then donate others for the collection. At one time Buzzy had over 600 hats on display in the Store. All of them were donated.
