With the conclusion of the NBA playoffs the other night, I can now turn my sports attention to baseball. (I only have so much, or maybe it’s so little, band with that I have to take my sports one at a time.) Timing-wise though, this works well with baseball because the first half of the MLB season is simply an excuse to get to the second half and the best part of the season.
With that in mind, check out the latest pitch on the scene. You have probably heard of the split-fingered this and that, a knuckle curve, a backdoor slider, a cut fast ball etc. but here’s the latest pitch in a pitcher’s arsenal – the WTF pitch thrown by Angels’ pitcher Robert Coello. It is such a tricky pitch that the catcher here doesn’t even get his glove on it as the ball hits his wrist. Also, it deceives the home plate umpire who called an obvious strike a ball. I’m sure that Coello was also saying “WTF?!”
A second video for you has a title that gets your attention. Once you review it, you’ll have to agree that it was a great “play.”
