Crabs – the Good Kind

Steve, Mike and Me at Kevin’s Corner Cafe

While I was waiting for Lori, Mike and Steve Raley to meet me at Kevin’s Corner Cafe  for lunch, the sign posted on the front of the restaurant caught my eye.  I wondered if Kevin’s claim of  “Best Soft Shell Crabs In Town” was true.  Turns out, they were as good as advertised as Kevin served up a couple of fat, crispy fried and juicy soft shells that were excellent.  Five whisks, or spoons or whatever other device food critic’s use to indicate top notch fare are in order.   Maybe, five Buzzybucks!

Then again, my favorite Lexington Park seafood place Captain Pat’s run by Pat Wathen has a clever sign advertising his offerings:

If you get a chance, stop by and check these out.  You won’t be disappointed.  (On another restaurant note, rumor has it that Ruddy Duck/St. George’s Island is set to open this weekend.  However, you may want to verify that as I wouldn’t want you getting too crabby if you drove all the way down there and they were not open.)
