Had close to 50 cars crammed into Buzzy’s yesterday for the Car Show and I’ll be posting photos later. My thanks to all the car owners who participated and to everyone who came down and checked things out. Thanks also to Steve (Polock) Soroka for playing some music for us.
The helicopter (above) was a Bob Mann suggestion. A friend of his is currently taking lessons to become a chopper pilot and she had a session scheduled for yesterday. Bob talked her and the instructor into dropping into the car show. When he called me about it Sunday morning I referred him to my neighbors Doug and Karen Byrne as to where it could land. They didn’t mind and next thing you know it’s the Buzzy’s Car and Air Show. (Someone observed that it was the first helicopter landing in South County where someone wasn’t being flown out.)
As for our other visitors to the car show later in the day, I am very sorry that the folks from our Fire and Sheriff’s Departments had to also pay us a visit. Still not too comfortable with all the “extracurricular activities” that go on at the Buzzy Car Show. Otherwise it was a great day and a great event. Somewhere Buzzy is smiling.
