Finally, Maryland makes the top 5 rankings for something good. In most of these State rankings and surveys of things to do with health, happiness, taxes, and sex (ok, I just threw that one in there to see if you were paying attention,) Maryland doesn’t fare too well. In fact, we usually rank near the bottom in the majority of these rankings.
So, it’s good to see that we made the top 5 in probably the most important category of them all – good things to eat! According to this ranking of best regional foodstuffs summarized by Deadspin (click here) Chicago-style pizza is number 1, shrimp and grits from South Carolina is 2, California’s burrito is 3 and the pistol shape State checks in at cuatro with our crab cake. That said, the author still manages to keep us very humble in his summary:
