Scotland Post Office

This is a photo I took of a painting of the Scotland Post Office now on display in the Ridge Post Office.  A letter from Phylis Ann Taylor accompanied the painting sent to Ridge Post Master Michelle and states that “It was painted in the 1980’s by V.V. “Rich” Richardson of Hughes Aircraft when he came to Pax NAS for work on an aircraft tested there.  The V.V. stands for Virgil Vaughn and he is deceased.  He gave me the painting while in Maryland working at the Naval Base.”

Phylis is currently living in North Carolina and I’ve sent her a letter asking for more info on the painting and Mr.  Richardson.   My only critique of the painting is that he should have had Miss Queenie Willis posed in it somewhere.  However, I shouldn’t be too critical of Rich, because knowing Miss Queenie, she probably never would have agreed to it.
