Frankie Tippett has been reviewing St. Mary’s Historical Society microfilm and downloading many old photo’s of places of interest throughout the County on Massey Thompson’s FB site You Know You Are From St. Mary’s If. Frankie has posted several which caught my eye because they involved many old country stores and businesses that used to be around back in the day.
So for the next couple of posts here on the Buzzyblog my theme of the week is going to be “Frankie’s Photo’s” as I pass along some of the ones that he has been posting.
Let’s start with two photo’s that Frankie found of old hotels in South County: Pt. Lookout and Scotland Beach.

Scotland Beach Hotel was the precursor to Mae Morgan’s and later Duffy’s Tavern. The property is now owned by John and Lenore Carbone but the hotel and other buildings show here are long gone.
