Lost somewhere in the discussion about the Starbucks’ red Christmas cup, was the fact that they released it the first week of November! I think that they did this knowing that the publicity would be controversial and it seems to have worked out for them. Even the master of Bad-Publicity-is-Good-Publicity himself Donald Trump fell for it and suggested a possible Starbucks boycott (click here for story.)
Pretty much everyone I talk with agrees that the Christmas season now starts way too early. Here’s a photo I took of the Callaway Food Lion where they have been selling Christmas tress for a week now. Who buys and puts up a tree this early?
Oh well, since the Christmas season has begun, I will show you just maybe the best Christmas tune of them all from D.C. legend Root Boy Slim. (Think I saw him perform at the Cellar Door one night many years ago but that was a long and blurry time ago. From what I remember, he put on a hell of a show.)
