When I rolled in to pick up Mike to go to what I thought was his birthday lunch today I greeted him with “Happy Birthday.” Mike proceeded to let me know that his birthday is not until the 23rd. I immediately wondered how I got that wrong.
Well, when in doubt, blame the smart phone. (Actually it’s due to my not being smart enough to use the smart phone properly but humor me here.) Knowing that I was not going to be here next week to help Mike celebrate his actual birthday, sometime ago I made an entry on my cell phone calendar for today “Mike b’day – lunch” to remind me to touch base with him this week sometime. When I reviewed the calendar and saw this note, I forgot all about it being a place holder and assumed that today was his birthday. Guess I need to be more clear when I make these reminder notes.
At least I got Granddaughter Lily’s correct. Here she is about to do the candles/cake thing at a little party we had for her tonite.
