Watching returns of the Iowa caucus the other night, I saw a map similar to the one above and thought “Man they got a lot of counties.” Turns out I was onto something because Iowa ranks in the top ten of states with the most counties:

And just to prove that old saying “size doesn’t matter” only the state of Texas from the Top Ten County listing also appears on the listing of states ranked by size:

As for Maryland, we have 24 counties. Without enlarging the map to see names of counties, how many can you identify?
