Tommy and a Wildcat Did Growl

Nothing like time with your 11 year old grandson  to make you question things thru the perspective of a pre-teen and to make you smile.   Here are a couple of exchanges we recently had on the way down the road to or up the road from Buzzy’s Country Store:

Shawn:  I heard Pam yelling at Jenny.
Me:  Glad she wasn’t yelling at me.
Shawn:  Pam doesn’t yell at you.
Me:  She knows better.
Shawn: No. It’s because you always do what she tells you to do.
Me:  Touché.

Shawn:  Why do all the guys at your Store hate Hillary so much?
Me:  They’re Republicans and they would hate the Democrat no matter who it was.
Shawn:  But they REALLY, REALLY hate Hillary.
Me:  Some people just like to hate.
Shawn:  What did she do to make them hate her so much?
Me:  They got all kinds of reasons.
Shawn: Is one of the reasons because she is a woman?
Me:   Maybe a little.
Shawn:  Does that mean Trump is going to beat her?
Me:  We’ll see.

After eating our lunch at Courtney’s, I instructed Shawn to go stand next to Tommy so I could get their picture together.  Once Shawn was situated I said “Hey Tommy, look up.”  He begrudgingly did so and I took the above photo.  In the truck heading back down to the Store, Shawn noted with a touch of amazement in his voice, “When you said look up, Tommy growled.”

Good excuse (2:50 mark) to play this version of my favorite song:
