Whenever I hear the expression “Any given Sunday” my first thought is of the movie by that title starring Al Pacino. Still my favorite football movie and one of the few where Pacino and all his yelling doesn’t really get on my nerves like he usually does. Check out his great pre-game speech here (click here.)
That said however, a close second to that football Any Given Sunday reference is a reminder of a 2001 front page Enterprise article that featured a photo of Buzzy and Linda Lepper:

As for football on Sunday, the article did not mention that come September 10, the NFL will start back up with Sunday football. My bookie, in a very compassionate moment, has advised me that she will waive the vig for me this year since I lost so much to her last year. (She admits that she is giving me the husband-sucker-bet-discount.)
Sooooo, let’s get ready to GAMBLE. My initial two bets with her involve our hometown teams the Ravens and the Commanders. I placed a wager on each of their over/unders as follows: I am betting that the Commanders will exceed their 6.5 total wins for the season and that the Ravens will finish under their projected 10.5 wins. No doubt.
