As I get older my concept of time has changed, I guess because I now realize that I am running out of it and have less and less of it to spare. Younger, I never thought nor cared about things like that.
Now however, I am not so carefree about how I do or don’t waste my time. I will conduct what I call a “time analysis” when trying to decide what to invest my efforts in.
For instance, a request to pick someone up at or take them to BWI or Dulles airports. My analysis will kick in – it will take me two and half hours up and back each way to do this. That’s a 5 hour investment of time that I am not too keen on pissing away. (Remember too that, my time analysis also has to factor in a Buzzy financial component in that having Buzzy’s Country Store to run, whenever I am not there behind the counter, I have to pay someone else to do that for me.) It then becomes a matter of time and money and as someone once told me “You will run out of time before you run out of money.” And I think it was Ben who first said “Time is money.” (However, it was Emerson who came up with “Health is wealth.” That one may carry even more weight than time is money.)
OK, but enough philosophizing about wasting time, let’s get to wasting some of it. Here is a fun one for you called Quick Draw. Of my numerous entries, this is the only one that it recognized.
Check it out (click here) and see if unlike me who can’t draw at all, you have any better luck at it.
Play this little tune while you are doodling away:
