Walkable Cities

It was one of those Microsoft click bait items that I usually scroll past. However, this one caught my eye after spending some time walking around Paris a few weeks ago. My going in thought was “Let’ see if Paris is on this list.”

The 12 Most Beautiful Walkable Cities in the World

Sure enough, Paris was listed Number 3 right after Florence and Dubrovnik.

What really surprised me however, is that out of the dozen cities on this list, I have somehow managed to have visited 11 of them. The one outlier was Tallinn, Estonia (#10 on the list.).

My one quibble with the dozen cities listed however, would be the inclusion of a certain Massachusetts city (#4 on list.) Guess you know by now, that I don’t particularly care for anything Boston-related. (Story goes that Boston was laid out along the cow trails which may or may not explain why trying to walk around Boston is a challenge to all two legged creatures (click here.)) Was glad to see that our D.C. (#7) made the list though.

Also, I had to smile seeing San Francisco (#9) on the list with a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge. It reminded me of Brady’s and my visit there in 2013 when we flew in a helicopter over and under the bridge! The next day we then walked across it. Maybe someone should do a travel article “Famous Bridges Flown Over, Under and Walked Across.”

Lots of walking songs out there to chose from, but JT’s is still my all time favorite:
