Pope Time

I went looking for a video of Father Guido Sarducci and while unsuccessful at finding what I was looking for, did land on this very timely video. (Pope Pizzaballa has a nice ring to it doesn’t it? Proves once again that there are some names that you just can’t make up!)

It was good to see that Don Novello is still around and doing his thing. However, the reason I went looking for him has to do with what I thought was his joke about the Pope and matters involving birth control. I was certain that it was Father Sarducci who had first said “He no playa da game, he no maka da rules.”

But upon further review, I was surprised to learn that it was actually attributed to Earl Butz:

In addition to most everything else about the movie Conclave, the music was well done too. Composer Volker Bertelmann used something called a Cristal Baschet to write the overall score and give the movie its very unusual sound.

We will have the Conclave on at Buzzy’s Country Store during the proceedings. Should the white smoke fly, we’ll toast one to the new Pope – whatever his name is and regardless what games he does nor does not play.
