Got a musical pop quiz for you today – name a song sung by Paul Carrack. Are you asking who? OK, I will even give you couple of clues, but they still probably won’t help you: think Ace, Squeeze and Mike and the Mechanics. Paul sang lead on those group’s biggest hits respectively: How Long Has This Been Going On, Tempted and The Living Years. The following Mike and the Mechanics tune was also a big hit and featured Paul as lead vocalist. (The birthday theme at the video’s start prompted me to learn more about Paul.)
As stated above, M&TM’s biggest hit was the following tearjerker of a tune. (If it doesn’t move you to do so, for those of you whose old man is still tromping around, why not give the old boy a call today and say hello. You never know how much longer you will be able to do that.)
Not to leave you on too down a note however, this solo release from Paul was his biggest hit.
Still getting it done, Paul is currently touring in the UK (click here.)
