Speaking of Turkey

I like how Enterprise photographer Jesse Yeatman took this picture  just as the shotgun shell was expelled.  Photo was taken at the Ridge American Legion Post 255 where every Sunday they sponsor a Turkey Shoot (details below.)  Reminds me of a tourist couple who were in Buzzy’s Country Store one Sunday afternoon and were a little shook up as they had just driven by the Legion when a turkey shoot round was underway.  “We couldn’t believe it!  There were like 10 guys out in this ball field with their shotguns shooting at this school.”  (Ridge Elementary School is located adjacent the American Legion.)   I tried explaining the nuances of a turkey shoot to them, but I’m not sure they really got it enough to have appreciated it.
