Buzzy's Hat Collection

Pat Stover donated a SCYC (click here for back story) hat to the Buzzy collection the other day so I thought I’d discuss Buzzy’s hat collection which now numbers over 600.  As with Pat’s hat, the majority of the hats have been donated.  Buzzy began collecting hats back in the 50’s when a visitor gave him a WMZQ hat that’s still around.  Since then, thru the years people have contributed hats to his collection.  In 1999 he even did an inventory of his collection (left.)
When I took over in 07, I kept all of the hats but reordered them into categories.  Local businesses’ are over the counter, while military and sports ones are to the side.  Buzzy only had a few college hats and I’ve since added a row of them just behind the other rows.  One other change I’ve made is to have hat donors sign and date the hat so that years from now there’s a record of when the hat entered the collection and who gave it.  If you have an old hat you think might be able to “hang” out at Buzzy’s, bring it by.  Be sure to sign it when you do.  And thank you Pat for the latest addition.
