Whenever I finish a trip somewhere, I immediately start thinking about my next one. Right now I’m thinking about the ball park trip that my son Brady and I take each August click here.
In doing a little research as to which one(s) we’ll try and hit this year, I found this listing of the top ten ball parks to visit click here. Orioles’ Camden Park is #10 and for me it’s hard to believe that it is now 30 years old.
Brady and I have been to most of the parks on the list which includes one of my least favorite ball parks Fenway Park. (The joke I tell people is that Fenway was only one step above Pennies. In fact, I liked Pennies even more than I did Fenway!)
My only quibble with the list would be the omission of Giants’ Pac Bell ball park which along with the Pirates’ PNC Park (#2 on the list) are the two most scenic parks I’ve been to.
Since both of the two New York stadiums are new, our tentative plans for this year are to re-visit New York and check them out.
Speaking of Shea Stadium, sort of, I caught Billy Joel’s “Last Play at Shea” concert the other day. It was pretty good review of not only Billy’s career but also of how Shea came to be and it’s history. If you get a chance to do so, check it out.
