Couple of young ladies from Asheville, N.C. popped into Buzzy’s Country Store Saturday afternoon on bicycles. Amanda and Malinda discussed how they were doing a bike tour of the Tidewater Potomac area which when they finish will tally close to 400 miles on their bikes. They had started in D.C., biked down the Virginia side of the river to Reedville and then caught a boat ride over to Pt. Lookout State Park where they stayed Saturday and Sunday nights. They will continue their tour this week thru Southern Maryland, up to Indian Head and back to D.C. Their tour is one of several from the Adventure Cycling Association. For more info click here.
One the highlights of their stay in South County included a visit to Courtney’s Restaurant Saturday night. When they were in the Store Sunday, I asked them what they thought of how Tommy treated them. Malinda laughed and said “I think he’s just a big softie who tries to hide it.” Good observation, Malinda! And good luck to you and Amanda on the rest of your trip!
