As you travel north on Rt. 235 from Ridge, just above Robinson Barnes check out the street light at Cedar Lane Road. It’s been there a couple years now. The explanation I heard is that a contractor tasked with installing new lights in front of Cedar Lane Nursing Home below Leonardtown, mistook Cedar Lane Road as the destination and initially installed two street lights, one on each side of the entry to Cedar Lane Road. When the mistake was caught, the contractor relocated one of the lights but left the other one in its current location.
All this came to mind following a visit to Buzzy’s Country Store from someone who grew up in Wabash, Indiana. He informed me that the first street light in America was installed in Wabash click here. When he had first informed me that he was from Wabash, I asked him about the cannonball. He said that that actually had little to do with Wabash click here. Shouldn’t there be a song about the Wabash Streetlight then?
