Saw that Deep Purple has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Good. They should be admitted based on Smoke on the Water alone. Every time that song comes on the Classic Rock channel I have on in Buzzy’s Country Store, heads will start nodding and someone will say “Turn it up.” It never fails to elicit a response.
You know the Deep Purple version of Smoke, but check out this take on it. It’s a little different than what we’re used to hearing. (However, I seriously doubt that the boys in the Store would like it, much less request that I turn it up. See what you think.)
