Speaking of Billy Joel (previous post) he is included in this listing of best songs with a wine reference click here. Billy’s “Italian Restaurant” is included in a pretty good list that also includes my favorite song “All Along the Watchtower” for the reference “businessmen they drink my wine.” (The song’s first line “There must be some way out of here” is my ringtone. I’ve had it for some time now but son Brady has made some suggestions that he may procure a new one for me. Think it’s his way of saying that my ringtone really ought to be out of here.)
As stated, it’s a good list, but it does omit a song that should or could have been included: Solomon Bruke’s “Cry to Me” with the line “Nothing could be sadder than a glass of wine alone.” It’s a sad line but one that Solomon followups up with “Loneliness is just a waste of your time.”
