Only Poem that Ever Named a Football Team

Looks Like Raymond McNeal

Back in December I tripped over Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” when fellow daily blogger Toad did a post on it (click here.)  As he notes, it’s something you probably haven’t read since high school.  (There’s a good reason for that too, it’s not a very “uplifting” poem.)

Then, last month when my wife Pam was in the University of Maryland hospital for her back surgery, I had a chance to visit Poe’s gravesite which is located just up the street from the hospital.  That wasn’t too uplifting an experience either.  However, for an alternative, more upbeat take on The Raven click here.
