Saw where You Tube has topped 1 billion monthly viewers (click here for story.) I’ve accounted for a share of that number as it’s one of my frequent go-to sites. At Buzzy’s Country Store someone will mention having seen something and I will pull it up on the T-V for everyone to check out. Sometimes when I do this with tourists, who think they are in downtown redneckville, it’s fun to hear their reaction when I pull up their referenced video in a matter of seconds and show it on the Store T-V. For example, some of “Peggy’s People” were in a few weeks ago and upon hearing one of them mention a video of a baby elephant in the water, I pulled it up for all of them to see. The lady who had mentioned it wasn’t sure that I had it right. She then proceeded to verify it on her smartphone to ultimately concede that it was correct. Here’s the elephant video which is cute but a litle lame so only give it a few seconds because I have something a little wilder for you below.
Just last night in the Store, my buddy Russ was discussing residing in the dorm at St. Mary’s College and playing the record Rudy Ray Moore “Dolemite” at full volume out his dorm window. Although I had never heard of this Rudy dude, I was able to You Tube and play it for the folks in the Store. After a few minutes of it however, I had to turn off the outdoor speakers for fear someone would pull up, get out of their car, hear Rudy and not want to come into the Store.
