Thanks to Capt. Jimmy Cullison having posted it on his FB page, we did a little tribute to Alvin Lee yesterday at Buzzy’s Country Store. Lee died during a “routine” (yeah, right) surgery (click here for obit) so we dialed up the famous Woodstock video of him playing “I’m Going Home.” I always think of an Army buddy of mine who was a big Ten Years After fan. I used to argue with him unsuccessfully when he would maintain that Alvin “stole” Woodstock by out playing and out performing everyone else there to include Carlos and Jimi. Having just reviewed all three of those performances again, I may now have to agree with my Army dude. Then again, maybe it’s death that makes one’s life accomplishments seem better. I’ll give it another look see in a couple months to make my final determination. Otherwise enjoy the video. (And thanks again, Jimmy.)
