Just Try and Pry My Hands Off the Wheel

Today marks the first speed limit set by Connecticut in 1901 (click here for story.)  Excerpt follows:

 Using the slippery-slope argument that we if we let x happen, it will lead to y, it follows then that’s only a matter of time before the government will try and take away our cars.   After all, cars kill people, generate toxic fumes and cause traffic jams.   The government already mandates that we have to register our cars and carry insurance on them, so we are well on the way to the government outlawing cars entirely. 

Thus, to ensure our car rights and to halt the government’s attempts to outlaw cars,

I’m starting the National Car Association (NCA) and invite you to join the fight.   Just send me a donation/dues and I’ll use that money to buy off some politicians to ensure our car freedoms.  I encourage you to join today because if we allow “them” to outlaw cars, then only criminals will have cars.   We know where that would lead right?  They’d rip us off and charge exorbitant prices just for us to get around.  Wait a minute, that sounds familiar!
