Defendant: “Mason, Mason, Mason”
Over the weekend I processed a credit card in Buzzy’s Country Store for an individual named Dan Daniels. While I was tempted to do so, I refrained from commenting to him about his name. (I learned long ago that it’s never a good conversation starter to ask someone about his/her name because more than likely they have been teased and questioned about it their entire life. For instance, think about meeting someone named Gerber and what your first baby-food-related comment to them would be. It’s a good bet that you’re not the first person to go that route with them.) 
So while I simply said adios to Mr. Daniels, it did lead me to think about some other folks I’ve encountered with repetitive names such as Joe Joseph, Rob Roberts, Johnny Johnson and even Gary Gray. Famous-wise, there are several rappers with doubled up names, but those are just stage names. (E.g. Snoop Doggy Dogg’s real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, which may explain why he did change it to Snoop Dogg.) The most infamous double named dude Sirhan Sirhan is still in jail for assassinating then Presidential candidate Bobby Kennedy. However it is another doubler who may just run for president and that it is Governor Chris Christie. Along these lines, check out this video by Phillip Phillips. It’s pretty good good.
