The Nighthawks were the headliners at last Saturday’s Bike Fest held at the Fairgrounds. Couple folks in the Store were on their way to see and hear them perform and it made me think of the various times and places that I have caught their show.
The most recent time I saw them was a couple years ago at the Old Country Inn right here in downtown Piney Point. Also, I saw them several years ago at Monks Inn and also at the Hollywood Firehouse. Those are just the times that I can remember seeing them. However, I think I also caught their act a couple more times back in my “d days” i.e drinking and drugging, so I’m a little hazy on those events and where. Bottom line, let’s just say that The Hawks have indeed been around a long time and I’ve been fortunate to have heard them several times.
How’s this for a crazy idea – I’m going to contact them about playing at Buzzy’s Country Store and that way they can truly say that they have performed everywhere. Here they are doing the Sopranos’ theme as good as and maybe even better than the original version:
