Note Breyers Ice Cream Sign on the Left

Just the other day in Buzzy’s Country Store, Bob Mann told me a small-world-story about an Australian couple he met on an Alaskan cruise who turned out to be next door neighbors to someone that Bob had known and worked with on Base.   No sooner had Bob finished his story when his brother-in-law Robert Mattingly came into the Store.  Somewhere along the line, Robert talked about Wise’s Store that used to be in Medley’s Neck and how he went there as a kid to get candy and sodas from the store’s owner Buck Wise. 

I then told Robert about my attempts to contact the current owner about possibly buying and relocating the Breyer’s ice cream sign (photo right) that is still on the property where the Wise’s store used to be.  (See my previous post on this.) Turns out that Robert knows and is friends with the current owner.  Robert noted that the owner is in the process moving out of the area and that he would contact the owner to see if we can’t work out something about that sign relocating also – to Buzzy’s!  

So, stayed tuned.  Small world story, would be a good excuse to have a party celebrating the return of the Breyers sign to Buzzy’s!
