Awhile back I told you about Kate Newbold visiting her Aunt Pam at Joe Cocker’s ranch in Colorado (click here.) Over the weekend, Kate and her Mom Theresa were back in Buzzy’s Country Store. Kate had just returned from visiting the Mad Dog Ranch. She told me that Joe had read my previous Buzzyblog post on them and had given her this souvenir (above) to present to me.
Can’t begin to tell you how cool I think this is – Joe Cocker sending me a souvenir! Pretty good for a Ridge boy isn’t it?!
Now that Joe and I are buds, I may have to invite him to come hang out at Buzzy’s where he can meet some more Mad Dogs. Right now I’m working on my letter to him. Speaking of which here’s a classic Cocker video for you. Joe, as usual is great in this video, but be sure to check out the Tightrope Man Leon Russell. Don’t know what drug(s) he was on, but good news is that it did not affect his piano playing. Probably enhanced it!
