Several years back, my friend Joy from the Philippines told me that her cousin was planning to drive up from North Carolina to spend Thanksgiving with her and her husband Caesar here in Maryland. Joy noted that her cousin intended to drive up I-95 on Wednesday afternoon/evening. Joy says she told him “Oh no, you do not want to try and drive then because in America, they all go home on Wednesday afternoon and evening, so they can be there to eat a big meal on Thursday, and then they go shopping on Friday and Saturday. Thanksgiving is their biggest holiday.” I think she summed it up pretty good. Hope your Thanksgiving is a good one.
