Here is a little yin and yang for you. I heard Kenny Chesney doing his song Pirate Flag the other day and thought that it sounded a little too much like Tom Petty’s Last Dance With Mary Jane. So, just because I had the time to waste doing so, I pulled up the video’s of both tunes. Am now kinda of sorry that I did so.
Kenny’s is ok. And even if he did “pirate” the tune from Tom, the video has some nice beachy moments with some bikini-wearing babes and scenic sunset shots. Not bad; borderline great stuff as it puts you in a good mood.
But then I rolled back in time to check out Tom’s Mary Jane video. Even for my depraved rock n roll sensibilities, got to say that it’s a little weird. Watch if you care to do so but you can’t say that I didn’t warn you first that you’ll never listen to Mary Jane the same way again.
