Aside from it being St. Paddy’s Day yesterday, it also marked my 35th anniversary of having lived in Piney Point. I moved here in 1979 on St. Paddy’s Day. Got me thinking about my Reside-a-log i.e. different places where I’ve lived. (Those of us who have been “in the rooms” are familiar with what is known as a “Drunkalog,” so consider this my variation of that exercise. The underlying assumption here then is that you had to have been sober enough to recall just where you were living at the time.)
My Reside-a-log summary comes out to having lived in 13 different places in 2 countries (the US and Germany), 7 states, and 4 of the 9 districts here in the County. Looking back, I find that the bulk of my moving around was Service-related. The first 2 years of my life with Buzzy and Mom we moved 4 times with him in the Air Force. Then, when I went into the Army in 1970, I also made 4 different moves in just 2 years time. That means 8 of my 13 moves were logged in the short period of 4 years of my life. Kinda glad that Piney Point has been such a constant these past 35 years. Here’s my summary.
